I went for the back angle like Sharyn's - didn't like my results as much...but I had to try it! Lol! Practice, practice, practice... (This little guy needs a little trim around the ears too, I'm noticing...) :)

Note: I think this ol' tryke was found at the dump. It's a little rusty but it runs great.

I'm so glad we get to see so many pictures of the kiddies!

on the back angle shot I stared at it for a second to see if I could figure out how I would have done it. see...most of what I do is just kinda natural, I'm not taught, but my eye catches things, does that make sense? So to figure out what I would do, I had to pretend I was there...and this is what I think I would have done.

I think that I would have shot it from the other side of his head...so that on the far left of the photo you have his head first and then you can see the parade coming down after that. It's a natural progression thing, how you take the photo is how your viewers are going to see it. YOu want a natural flow. I do the same thing with my layouts.

So right now..the way the photo is, we see the motorcyle dude first, and then him looking at the parade, but you want it the other way..you want to see him first, then find out what he's looking at. So him in the far left, natural progression will then bring your eye to see what he sees.

does that help?

AH! That's IT!! I was staring at it forever trying to figure out why it didn't look right. That makes so much sense. Thank you! I really am glad you gave your feedback! You always explain everything so well. :) I'll have to try it again...another time.

Funny because it was something so simple. Lol. It usually is! The "natural progression" thing makes so much sense!

That would also explain why the bottom picture of Nikayda didn't turn out the way I wanted it too! :)

Even as I was taking it, I couldn't quite figure out where to stand. I knew the end result that I wanted. (The sidewalk stretched out before her.) But, I guess I need to really concentrate on that result in my head before I take the picure. Then maybe I'd get what I wanted! Lol.

I'm glad you understood it...I was thinking I could have worded it better...but it's kinda late. LOL

It took me a little bit to figure out what it was....sometimes I can peg it right away. It's not always easy - and I think it just takes a little practice to get your eye thinking that way, kwim? Cuz as a person..you're seeing everything, but as a photographer, you have to translate just that little snippet of the big picture to others. So how you do it is the tricky part.
