I'm on a junk hunt. When am I not on a junk hunt? Lol. I need a rake. I need an old metal rake and I don't need it for yard work.
I was hoping to find one in Michigan when we went for junk picking. No such luck. I know I'll find one garage saling, I just need the patience. Actually, it's not too bad because I really can't hang it up until Mark gets the drywall up and the walls are painted. ;)
I have a bazillion necklaces and they're all in a tangled mess in a basket. I've been trying to come up with the perfect solution for this...and I found it! In one of the magazines (when I say "one of the magazines", I'm referring to either Country Living or Country Home), someone had used an old garden rake for hanging all of their necklaces - tangle free! I loved it! It goes perfectly with the shabby chic style and I can't wait to find one. I'm going to hang it in my bedroom.
I also need vintage glass doorknobs. I have a couple but I need a lot more! I'm planning to use them on all of my doors. I love them!
I haven't been garage saling for a couple of weeks. I'm trying to have some self-control and that means I just have to stay home. When I go garage saling, there is no such thing as self-control for me! It's just not in my vocabulary. If I see something I love, I buy it. Just because we've never had room for extra stuff, has never stopped me from stocking up for our "family home". And I'm so glad it hasn't, now that we're finally building it. So, all these years of stress from living in cluttered houses filled with packing boxes will finally pay off.
And to clarify, just because I don't pass stuff up doesn't mean I've spent more than five bucks on too many things! I'm very, very frugal when it comes to the vintage stuff. And as I'm saying this, I'm thinking: okay, so I have passed up stuff I like but only if I knew it could be found for a prettier price! ;) Trust me, sometimes you just have to be patient!
And btw, I'm going to start signing my junk posts with my new and possibly permanent slogan!
~Changing the world one piece of junk at a time!
