So I finally figured it out~!

I happened to notice the other day that my blog isn't posted on my profile. (i.e. If I left a comment on someone's blog and if you were to click on my name, it would only show my other info., not my blog).

Hmmmmm... While contemplating this particular dilemma, I went to the help desk, not so much physically but mentally per se (ok, I clicked on the "help" link in Blogger) and discovered that if your blog is not listed publicly, it will not be listed on your profile. Then I discovered that I could still add it to my profile on my own by posting it under "Contact"!

Yay for me.

So it's under "Contact". You click on "My Web Page". (When you see my name by a comment on someone else's blog...)

Ok. A bit of a pointless observation.

Strike

Judy had asked how to draw a line through a word. Edited to add: I forgot to add that the reason I put these directions in a post is for the benefit of anyone else who may not know how. Although, I suppose, that part is obvious and I probably didn't even have to say that. :) end of e.t.a.

I am so computer unsaavy, it isn't even funny. But I've been figuring some stuff out little by little, on my own, and with the help of other people. That one took a little trial and error and I finally got it!

So here is how...

When you are typing out a new post, say your sentence is: I was going to the bank. But you want it to say: I was going to the bank crazy. (Doesn't everyone go crazy when they go to the bank?!)

After you type your sentence, switch over to 'Edit Html' mode. (It's almost directly across to the right of where you type in your 'Title:' and it's next to 'Compose').

In Html mode, replace the '(' and ')' with '<' and '>'. I was going (strike)to the bank(/strike) crazy. There should not be a space between the '>' and the word 'to' or between the word 'bank' and '<'.

You can switch back to 'Compose' mode and resume typing. Let me know if it doesn't work. :)

Gone

I guess that's one way to look at it....

Let me explain.
I just checked my Yahoo! email account and the 'inbox' was empty.

Empty.

As in, there was nothing there.

There should've been a whole bunch of emails that I'd already opened but done nothing with! Hadn't sorted them. Hadn't responded to them. And most definitely had not deleted them! At first, I was flabbergasted and wondering where the heck they all went.

Then, I just sat back and thought, at least now I don't have to figure out what to do with them.

....right?

Excuse me...

Yeah. Excuse me while I try to figure out the best font and color for this blog...

Some of the posts have small text. Some don't. Just trying to figure that out right now...in case anyone is noticing all the color changes....



Okay!

I think the real problem here is....I need glasses!

Lightning Strikes

Our internet router got fried!!

There was a thunderstorm overnight from Sunday to Monday and lightning fried our router which in turn fried our internet connection card. So we were without internet yesterday.

Perfect timing - we already had technicians coming to the house Monday afternoon to update our phone system. (Something prescheduled by the phone company.) So they were able to take a look at the router at the same time and replace it. Mark had to bring the 'tower' in today to replace the card. Now everything's up and running again.

We had everything else plugged into a 'six-way' but forgot to double & triple check everything and the router wasn't. Lesson learned.

Pictures....Someday

I haven't been posting pictures lately. (I'm sure my family's noticed.) I tried from Picasa but it isn't working. And I haven't figured out the Gimp thing. Dad sent me emails but I don't know what I'm suppose to do with them. Better call him one of these years and figure it out. I haven't taken that many pictures lately anyway. It's been really nice out and we've been busy.

People were meeting at the park today for lunch at noon but Mark was sleeping and I didn't mind staying home. It's a beautiful day though. Not a cloud in the sky! The kids have been begging to go outside, all day. I told them we'd go when dad gets up. He just got up a little bit ago and walked with Nikayda and Abo to Chuck's (grocery store) to get the paper and milk. He was up all night working on house plans for a house that he and Stan are going to do. I went to bed around two, he just told me he went around seven!!

The time is just flying by until we head to Michigan. I can't believe that I only have a couple of days. Three to be exact. I feel like I have a million things to do...laundry, packing, hopefully get this house a little bit organized. I never manage to do that before vacation and everytime we go somewhere, I think I will. It'd be so nice to come home to a clean house.

I also need to defrost our little ice-box of a freezer. Been putting that off for a couple of weeks. Yesterday, I couldn't even open the door on the freezer anymore because the ice was so thick around it!! (Time to buy a chisel). That's pretty bad. It's the kind of freezer that's inside of the frig. It doesn't keep ice cream frozen. Seriously. So, I never dare to keep meat in there for too long. Now, you're feeling sorry for our poor kids who never get ice-cream. What kind of childhood is that?!

We were tossing around the idea of staying in a hotel on the way to break up the trip...still haven't made up our minds about that. We're leaning more towards not...to save money. I'd rather have the cash to shop (garage sales/junk stores) when we go there.

Not sure if I've said this, but I'm not a big shopper, in the real sense of the word. Like, I don't like mall shopping or department store shopping that much. [The exeption here is Target. I love Target.] A lot of people seem to have that misconception of me. But get me near garage sales and junk stores or antique malls. I'm all over that!!

I hate clothes shopping. That's why I don't own a pair of jeans that fit me right now and why I only have a couple of things that I wear over and over. Clothes are fun but they aren't fun to shop for...especially when I'm trying to lose weight. House stuff and junk is WAY more fun.

I'd like to think I'm a professional garage saler. I'm a complete addict. (Better than smoking, right?) I've been pondering the idea of selling on Ebay. I'm just really nervous about it. There's so much to think about and I have no idea what to do! I think it'd be a fun little side job for me.

Mothering three crazy little kids takes up all of my time (did I just call my kids crazy?!) (You mothers with more kids are just laughing.) but I really think it'd be the thing for me. Mark keeps asking what I'm waiting for but I'm very cautious about starting something new like that. I want to be sure I can make the commitment to it. And I'm kind of waiting until we get in our house to have a place to organize my junk a little better. But Em (my sister) has said I should probably get a start now to build up my numbers...or whatever you call your credibility score.

NOTE TO SELF:

DO NOT DELETE "PICTURE COLLAGES" FROM THE PICASA PROGRAM IF YOU HAVE THEM POSTED ON YOUR BLOG.

Most of my pictures are gone....as in, poooooof...gone from my blog as I've had to post most of them in the "collage" format. Thankfully, I do still have all of the originals...or do I?! Yes. I do. I only deleted my "collages" from Picasa thinking it would be more organized. It's DEFINITELY more organized on the blog when you have NO pictures. Isn't it? Lol.

Yeah right! :)

(And, yes, Dad - I deleted them from the "recycle bin" too.)

(To everyone else: When I first started using Picasa, I had erased pictures, on accident and in a panic, called my dad, only to be told they were saved in the special place called the "recycle bin" and I could retrieve them. However, since learning about this special bin, I've regularly emptied it! Wouldn't want any extra junk laying around. Because I have absolutely none of that sitting around my house right now. (This said with a good dose of sarcasm). We have boxes everywhere).

Photo-Editing

Thanks to all of you for contributing in my quest for a good photo-editing program. My dad's hookin'-me-up with a free program called Gimp. I've gotta figure it all out and I'm VERY hopeful!

Note: I never did get Gimp set up but I think I found a better way to download pictures from Blogger...

I've been trying to post pictures for, literally, hours. Finally, I put them on contact sheets and it worked. I don't like to post them this way but it was the only option I had today.

My mom knit the cutest slippers for Nikayda. I love them! They're a really pretty bright blue (aqua) color. The color doesn't look quite the same in the pictures. She hasn't taken them off since Sara gave them to us, yesterday.

Our Day

We went to Lisa's (Nate) this afternoon for a visit. I love to go visiting but I'm such a homebody that I'm not good about going. So, I love when someone calls us up to have us over. (If you call, I will come). We all had fun and the best thing about today is that Carter wasn't wheezing...until this evening. I hadn't given him a treatment all day though. But, at least, he's finally better!

On the way home, I stopped by our house and took a bunch of pictures of our road and property. I'm not going to bother posting them because they're just dreary anyway with the trees bare of leaves and the cloudy skies we had today. But I thought they'd be nice to have for our reference someday. Besides my family has already seen our property. As I'm saying this I realize that you may not have...neither have some of my siblings. So, on second thought, maybe I'll post them but not until tomorrow (Wed.).

It's getting late and I'm going to relax. This blog thing is supposed to be relaxing and fun for me. Which it is...except for when I go to post pictures. Blogger (where I have this blog) has had MANY people with the same problem as I and they haven't fixed the problem. So. In the meantime, I just have to keep posting & reposting my pictures each time until they show up. A little stressful...

I'm having trouble with posting my pictures again. My computer seems to be really hungry for photos, lately. Most of them have disappeared. I will fix them tomorrow/today. (It's after midnight). The time is also listed an hour behind on all of my posts, I just noticed...wonder when that will be corrected?

The pictures at the top are supposed to be in this spot but they weren't posting.

Regarding Comments

Amanda just brought it to my attention that I had my "comment moderation" on and therefore, if you left a comment, you would not see it until I verified it first. I have turned that feature off and your comments should now post immediately after entering them. Funny thing is, I was getting frustrated that I had to "okay" every comment before it posted and I didn't know why that was.

As I've mentioned before, I'm kind of new to the whole computer thing. I mean, I used to be a Computer Queen but that was six years ago! I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Temper Tantrum

I was just throwing a temper tantrum. I keep having problems with this blog thing. I post pictures the exact same way every time but sometimes they just disappear. I have no idea why. I think I've got them all back up now...
