Ever notice the time on my posts? Quite often it's after midnight when I get on here. And way too many nights, I actually turn my computer back on to write a post. This is after I'm all set for bed and a thought comes to me.
I've even gotten back out of bed to turn my computer on!
I don't have a problem. Lol. Most people have a million thoughts running through their heads as they lay down for the night. Oh wait...you don't think it's so normal that I hop out of bed to write my thoughts in a post? At 2 a.m.?
Believe me! You wouldn't want me to be getting up and writing at 6 a.m. It'd be something like gershgabokonblksmakshalgonk...ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Pretty much nonsensical ramblings and plenty sawing of logs. No words at all. Kind of like now. I'm just rambling and I'm so tired that I've completely forgotten why I turned my computer back on. (It's 2:45 a.m.)
Oh yeah! There was a reason. I was thinking, as I was brushing my teeth, who-oh-who has been seeing my lovely self-portrait in my very first blog entry? EDITED TO ADD: I deleted the first post. END OF EDIT. I have no idea who's come across my blog these days. Then I had the common sense to be embarrassed. Believe it or not that was the first time I was (embarrassed about it). ;P
Then I got over it.
Then I went back and looked at it.
Then I thought (shrug) who cares!
But then I decided to explain it a little...
(Actually, I think it deserves a big explanation because it's pretty dorky!)
First, keep in mind that only my family knew that I had a blog at the time that I posted it! And second, if you knew my sister Molly Jane, you might understand this a little more. Anyway, picture Willy (that's her nickname. Long story. I'll tell you in a minute. Actually, I won't. It's on Amanda's blog somewhere...I think. Oh forget it! Long story short: She chose her nickname. She wanted everyone to call her Willabeana when she was really little. So we still do but we've also shortened it to Willy.)
Anyway, picture Willy... She'll do anything for a laugh and she's so carefree she never feels dumb about a thing! EVER! She's my hero in that respect. The thing is, I hardly feel dumb about enough things myself. I say enough because I think, my whole life, people have been feeling dumb for me! And I suspect they may think I should feel dumb more often. :) (shrug) I don't feel dumb too easily. (Most of the time. There are definitely exceptions here. - There always are)! :)
I am getting sidetracked because I'm so tired. Go figure! It's almost 3. In.the.morning! Lol. To explain my self-portrait...I had just gotten this digital camera - never used one in my life. So one night after I took a shower. That part is pointless but the only reason I put that in is because I was actually wearing my bathrobe. (Oh great! Now I should feel really dumb because everyone thought I was wearing some weird blue shirt with a collar instead of my bathrobe). :) And I was in front of the bathroom mirror taking pictures of myself.
I really, reeeally need to explain that part. I wasn't trying to be vane. (is that how you spell it? I don't think it is...?) Anyway, I don't think we have a single picture of me since we've been married and I was thinking, in my little brain, that I'd try to get a picture of myself. (Mostly, because I also wanted to cut my hair and wanted a 'before' picture.) ;) Whatever! :) Anyway, I couldn't relax enough to get a normal looking smile. It should be so easy right? You just smile and 'click', you take a picture. So finally I just made that big dorky face that you see (in my first blog entry) and I started laughing. The whole little episode reminded me of something Willy would do. Here I was almost 30 years old, taking pictures of myself in front of the bathroom mirror! Total dork! ;)
In the meantime, Mark got up for a bathroom break. Yes, I said bathroom break! He reads forever before he falls asleep every night. Anyway, he came into the bathroom and started grinning and said,"I was wondering what that noise I kept hearing was!"
He could hear the itty-bitty 'click-whir' of the camera all the way down the hallway!
(Okay, now I should be embarrassed!)

You're a dork. Plain and simple. NO getting around it.
The pictures are looking pretty good too.
