Paris Hilton

I feel sorry for her. The media has succeeded! Truthfully, I hate the media. But I feel sorry for Paris Hilton. Okay, I told myself that I wasn't going to write about news or politics because I have opinions on both and didn't want to improperly influence anyone. ;) But I just read about Paris having to go back to jail. And I plain-old feel sorry for the girl. Princess or not her life stinks right now! She's still a human being!

Now I know I just opened a whole can of worms for everyone to spill their opinions about how she's a spoiled brat and a diva, blah, blah, blah *Lol* and how it serves her right, yadda, yadda, yadda! :) But think about it, she's had everything and now she's got to go sit in jail for 45 days - with nothing. And worse yet, in solitary confinement?!!

I didn't say that she doesn't deserve the jail time because the system should be equal for everyone. But I feel bad because she was originally released and thought she could be at home during this time. And now she has to go back.

That's like giving candy to a baby and then grabbing it right back!!

So. I feel sorry for her.

I do too, any other average citizen would havr ended up in the "drunk tank" for one night, not with a 45 day sentance, I do think they should be more strict on drunk driving in general (See Yvonne's post from last week) But I do think that they unfairly made an example of her.

Note: I was composing this when Anne posted her comment... This is in reference to comments that I deleted - and only because they sounded...harsh, for lack of better words. ;)

I'm not sure if I made myself as clear as I'd intended when writing this post. I feel, 100%, that ALL drunk drivers should be punished. And I wanted to say that Paris should be jailed, *not* because she's a spoiled brat but *because* she broke the law. Hence, the comment about "opening a whole can of worms". I just re-read it and can see how it may have been taken differently than I meant. I just didn't want to get all kinds of comments about how she's "spoiled", she's a "rich brat" and that she "deserves it" for those reasons - because that in no way is punishable by jail...last I knew. LOL! :)

This was merely a statement, my opinion, about how RIDICULOUS the justice system behaved in the whole thing. (And as I was writing this, Anne posted her comments - which pretty much says everything I'm trying to. Thank you!)

And when I said that it's "like giving candy to a baby...and taking it back" and "I feel sorry for her", I was mostly joking but I felt sorry for her as a *human-being* in that particular situation. They are USING her fame/celebrity and treating her far differently, in a much more unfair way, than anyone else in the same situation. It's too bad...
