Dream Junk

Everyone has a dream...or two.

My dream is to sell junk.

I want to be known as the junk lady! ...but in a good way.

I think I've been doing a pretty good job on that lately! ;) Not sure if it's good or bad being known as the junk lady, but really, who cares? (Shrug)

I'm serious. :) When you really believe in something, you find that it really doesn't matter what other people think. Sure wish I had learned this a long time ago! (I could go on about that little elusive thing called "confidence" here - but I'll ramble about that another time.)

My dream is to combine my love for interior decorating with my love for all things junk. And I think I've got it! My mind is already buzzing with the idea of building a little shed somewhere in the front of the house to sell junk from. (And I've got JUST the shed - at Jon & Sara's. Mark's going to take it apart and haul it over to our house.)

The idea is to have a garage sale-type setting and have a sale once or twice a year. At least at first. Maybe eventually I could do it monthly. (That's what other places around this area do, and that's where the idea came from). I'm hoping to start as soon as next year. Once we're all settled in.

I'm really excited about it!

I want to help change the world! I want people to see that junk is *good*. That there is, in fact, a difference between good junk (real treasures) and bad junk (garbage). I want to change the world, one piece of junk at a time. Ok. Maybe that's a little over-the-top, but isn't it fun to think about?!

In the past couple of years, I found the one thing out there that I'm passionate about. Some people love training elephants, skydiving and grizzly bear wrestling. Others love building skyscrapers, swimming with sharks and cleaning other people's teeth.

I love junk. And I love to decorate with it. And I just so happen to want to make a profession out of it - albeit a "part-time" one. Notice the quotation marks? It'll definitely be a full-time job - what with the hunting and all. But there's nothing I'd rather be doing, than going junk hunting!

That reminds me - I haven't stopped at the Hubbard dump in WAY too long! We've found some great treasures out there.

My favorite?

A rusty, red vintage three wheel tricycle - with a rather large front wheel. At the moment, Mark & I are working on an idea for a built-in shelf for the boy's room that will fit the trike.

I love your motto "change the world, one piece of junk at a time!" The landfills will love you, Al Gore will love you more!

The most recent house pictures are under "Previous Junk" (to the left there - that's my archives). They're posted under May 28.

When you look at them, if you look at the bottom of each post it'll say:

Labels: House

You can click on that and all of my older house pictures, in my archives, will show up.
