Bowling Pin - 75 cents from The Mission House. I just put it in the box for the boy's room. It may go elsewhere... It's solid wood, old, and I love it.
Criticism? Yes please! :) I took a bunch of pictures. I didn't achieve what I wanted to w/ the whole angle thing, and believe me, I swear I tried every angle. (But probably didn't). Something just doesn't sit-right with my eye. Maybe the pillow should get tossed. And I don't mean thrown away. Lol. I love the tattered old thing! Bottom one, I tried capturing the shadow but not sure if this was the appropriate angle.
You know, it's funny because I'm trying to learn, I have no clue what I'm doing and I'm still posting all my (mistakes) shots for all-the-world to see. Lol. I was just getting a kick out of that because I really am clueless but I think different angles are so cool.

Personally, I have a hard time looking at pictures that are crooked when they include something that you know is not - like where the floor and wall meet for example. It's really distracting. I keep wanting to turn the picture. ;-) I have to think about this one a bit more though ..
The second is good. It might be better if you could see the whole bowling pin and/or if it was taken more in front of the pin, so you saw the pin and then the shadow behind it, rather than seeing the shadow on the side of the pin. Ok - so the shadow would be on the side regardless but hopefully you see what I'm trying to say. :-)
That same thing (top one) is what keeps bugging me. I keep wanting to straighten it too. Lol. :) I *wanted* the pin to be at an angle but not the line (from the bench). I had no clue how I was suppose to achieve that. Hmmmm....
And, yes, that's a good idea (second one). Maybe the thing is with this one is that I shouldn't have gone for the shadow when only part of the pin was exposed... Maybe it would look better if the background was more solid (w/ no shadows)??
I'm off to the house. It's suppertime! :) And time to figure out more electrical (light) issues. Lol.
And btw - Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate it!
When you taking the shadow picture, you could take a vertical picture showing the entire pin. But I have to compliment you, I noticed that you used the rule of thirds, whether it was intentional or not. Picture usually look better if the subject is on a third line rather than centered.
Yeah! (Beatle) Vertical would've been better. That's a good suggestion. :) And I *was* testing out the thirds thing...
And the kid's level thing... I know that one. :) I just can't always follow it. :) The shutter speed is really slow on this camera, there are many times I just take it however it looks. The kids move way too fast! Lol. :)
I like the angle and the lighting on the first. The second one is dark.

Thanks for the feedback Em. :) I agree with you too.
I feel like (so far) I've agreed with all of you. So, thank you. The thing is, it truly is just a matter of opinion and it's nice to hear what everyone else thinks.
