FIRST Junk of the Year!

I am so excited about this! THIS IS MY FIRST LOAD OF JUNK OF THE YEAR. I can't believe that I neglected to tell you about the most important event of my day yesterday. I went to my first junk-sale-of-the-year, an estate sale near my house.

Gretchen (James) said she and Kate (Jeff) had stopped at it after they were at the school but there "wasn't much there". That was a red-flag for me. I promptly turned my little bargain cruiser/mini-van around and went there. Whenever any of my family members or friends say "there wasn't much there" or "there was just a bunch of junk" those are definitely red flags!

Ironically, I am distantly related to the lady who was selling. I can't remember her name but I met her on a sleigh-ride at Christmas-time, in town. She's related to my Grandma or Grandpa T...? Eta: I ran into her again, several months later, and we figured out that she's related to Ellen (of Pete & Ellen T. - Pete's Homeless page). She was mistaken and thought she was related to my Grandpa T.) end of edit. Anyhow, take a look. It may be just a bunch of junk to you but they're real treasures to me!

I've been patiently waiting for several years to come across sand dollars at a garage sale. These were a real bargain at fifty cents each! I've got a thing for wooden hangers. I love them and last year I decided to start collecting old ones for mine and Mark's clothes. This bunch cost a total of fifty cents.

These frames are authentic barnwood - a real steal at 2 dollars a piece. She cut me a deal. They were each $3.00 originally. I'm going to replace the old pictures with my kids art and hang them in my boys room.

And I just love the red tin. It's hard to see the true color in the picture it looks kind of orange-red but it's really "fire-engine" red. One of my favorite colors. No idea what I'll use it for yet. But I love it!

I think the best part of having this blog is being able to brag about my junk bargains!

Yeah. I'm really enjoying this thing. Can't believe that we've been without a computer for so many years. I've had quite a few hits on my blog and I'm hoping to find out who's browsing so I added the invite at the top to encourage people to come out of the shadows. Hopefully, it'll work...

I wish I had found your blog a few months earlier. I was on a kick for a bit and kept collecting sand dollars from the coast and stacking them on my railing. This was so not me (I was emotionally attached to them though) so I finally tossed all but one. I could've sent them to you!
