Posting Lull

You may not have even noticed, as I've still been posting, but I haven't done any real extensive posts lately. No day-to-day rundowns or much about what's going on over here. :) Carter's asthma has been pretty bad lately. He's doing better. But I'm still feeling the stress of the few days where he wasn't. It usually takes me a bit to get back to normal due to the anxiety so that's why I haven't been posting. I'm still not feeling very humorous, so-to-speak. It's like I still have this tension, that little bit of fear that needs to wear off again. I'm not feeling frazzled so much as tense. Edited to add: At least, not at the moment...

I need a vacation! (Don't we all)?!

Today is the Fourth and we're going to fireworks this evening with Mark's family. His sister Christi is in town all week w/ the kids - so looking forward to seeing them. Suzy & Jason are over there already to Jet Ski. But it's pretty hot out and being that I feel tense, I get...dare I say? crabby in the humidity. :) His mom & dad don't have air and we do so I'm sitting tight right now. I think it's a little better on Carter too.

I gave both of the boys a haircut, this week. The biggest boy (Mark) still needs a trim though. Funny how that can hang over your head forever. I always cut my boy's hair but I always put it off and put it off! Although, Mark's been going-in to get his cut for a few years now...he doesn't have the patience to sit and wait for me. I take forever on his hair and I haven't cut it for long enough to get a little faster at it. He gave up on me. ;) Which is fine by me. It looks much nicer when someone else does it!

I think I've finally got a technique down with the little boys. There are always little techniques or tips I can still learn, to be sure, but it usually turns out alright. A lot of people do the buzz cuts for summer and they're so cute, but I prefer it a little longer on the top myself. So I use the scissors. It often ends up taking me a couple of days to shape it. I'll see little places that need to be trimmed here or there over the next few days!

I don't know if I'm going to get rid of this tension anytime soon! :) We're moving in 3-4 weeks!!! I have A LOT of packing to do, not to mention getting all of this junk over to the new house! I just bought two bookshelves yesterday. They're actually really old cupboards but the doors are missing so they look like bookshelves. They're white crackled paint! Exactly what I like. The white is just on the front though. The sides and the inside isn't painted. I'm thinking of painting the rest of the outside white and painting the inside a very pale bluish green color... So I was thrilled. I'll have to post a picture later after I bring them to the house.

And PLEASE cross your fingers for me. There is a very large (about 5 and a half feet long and floor to ceiling height) old wooden hutch w/o doors that I just saw - ABSOLUTELY perfect for my pantry. The guy said he might sell it. I AM GOING TO BUY THAT THING! (I hope). Lol! :) Cross your fingers! I'm going back in next time his shop is open. Plus, I think it's a great deal! He said he had been offered money for it before but I said it might be a little out of my range (only because I had to talk to Mark, who by-the-way gave me the go-ahead) but I think if I had dangled some money in front of him, he would've taken the bait! Wish me luck. I feel like I want it so badly because it's EXACTLY what I've been looking for.

Glad Carter is starting to get better..Spencer is doing much better here too! 3-4 weeks to move? I'd be beyond stressed-the end result will be worth it all but it's getting from here to there. Hang in there!

Thanks Sue! You too - I'm glad Spencer's doing better too!

And yeah, "beyond stressed" is about the truth. I know it's all *worth it*, so that helps. I'm so excited to get into OUR OWN house (it feels so good to say that)! But you're right, it's getting from *here* to *there*!! I suppose I should be saying that I'm doing good - considering the circumstances. ;)

I cut my boys' hair too. Pete doesn't care what I do to his but I gotta say....the guy looked much better before he married me (cuz that's when I took over his hair cuts). ;) LOL

Gabe won't sit still for very long so sometimes he winds up with some pretty funny cuts too.

I have to cut thei rhair before it gets shaggy tho...it bothers me if it's down over the ears. ;)

Me too! (Over the ears). I was really lagging behind this time and most people probably wouldn't even think that it looked bad. :)
