I GOT IT!

I got the hutch-type cupboard for my pantry and I'm thrilled! I made and sealed the deal on the way to Dave & Shirley's, this afternoon. Mark worked it out with the guy to meet him tomorrow to pick it up! I was so glad he worked with us on that because Mark isn't around when he's open! And on my way out the door, I bought two old matching metal dressers. I was eyeing them up the other day. Exactly what I wanted for the boy's room. I was very glad too as they don't have a closet in their room. (Too many angles and I didn't want it protruding "into" the room because that's what we would've had to do).

They're the exact style that I was hoping to find and I got a great deal on those too. I was planning on wood ones and was surprised to come across metal ones. I've never seen metal dressers in all my junking days!

I may not be very old to some people - but I've been junking since I was a kid in school. Make that middle school. And why do I always feel like I have to explain that to people?! I'm going to be the same way when I'm 70! I'll be saying, "I may not be very old to some people - but I've been junking since I was (fill in the blank)"! ;)

Ah but I'm very excited although I just paid for two more projects! My list is already endless. Actually, make that three. (The cupboard and two dressers). The dressers are freshly painted but they're grey. Just grey. Not high-gloss grey or any kind of fun grey (is there such a thing?). Just grey.

I think they're going to be red. But not sure on that yet. As for the hutch. It's going to be a bit of work as it'll need to be stripped (if I decide to go that route) and painted. It also will need curtains sewn for the bottom section as there are no doors. It needs new trim pieces all around and I'm going to add beadboard to the back as it's an open back. I'd prefer it was sealed so nothing can drop behind it.

I'm very satisfied with my bargains, to say the least! Mark has put me on a "time-out" with junking though. ;) Which is alright too because I've got to get busy with all of the junk I currently have (both with packing to move and with refinishing everything)!

Awesome you got the hutch! I saw a FP Little People (was it Little Peopl eback then too?) house at the Thrift Store today....I think we had the same one when I was really little....I thought of you....looked as tho it must have been ransacked because not a person or piece of furniture was in sight. Just the house for $4.14.
