I was just doing my hair, trying my best to squeeze it into two tiny little pony tails, and thinking that it looked a little silly (but knowing it'd be a little cooler while I'm cleaning up at the house) when Aapo walked into the bathroom...
"How come your hair looks so cute like that?," He asked with a big grin on his face.
Man I love him!
Nothing like a cute little voice to boost a mommy's confidence. :) Of course, I still think they look a little dorky. I won't even humor you with a picture. But, hey, they fit...even if they're only a whopping 1 inch long!

Hey, it's worth a shot, right?! I've tried to roll with the 1-inch ponies, too. :)
Olivia was cute yesterday, too. She was looking at me, and said: "Mom, that's a really pretty and cute outfit you have on today." She rarely says or notices such things, so it meant a little more. Lol. Certainly does boost a mom's confidence. :)
How cute. It's so sweet when they say stuff like that out of the blue! (And it just comes so natural for kids sometimes).
Not sure if you know who I am but I check your blog pretty regular. Actually we are cousins of sorts (2nd I think)... Anyway your story reminded me of something my son did recently. He's 5 and he had a friend over for the day, he asked me what was for supper... I told him spagetti, So he turns to his friend and says... "You GOTTA try my mom's spagetti, its the best ever!!":) I tell ya what they sure know how to work ya don't they, cause it certainly made my day!

Kid's are so sincere and they *mean it*. And they're compliments often come out of left field (that's the part I love).
I've been meaning to ask Kate (& Jeff P.), but of course every time I see her I forget, is your husband related to her? I kinda assume they are...but how? :)
Yes Kate and Shawn are 1st cousins, their dads are brothers, and actually she's my 1st cousin once removed, her mom and my mom's dad are brother and sister!
Oh no kidding! :) Well, it's funny because I think your baby reminds me of her kids. I can see a little resemblance there! And if there's relation on both your's and Shawn's side - then that makes sense. :)
I've heard that many times, mostly people say that Hannah(my baby) looks like Kate's Claire!
They do!!! (That's who I was thinking of the most when I said she looks like Kate's kids). She's so cute! :)
