Now we've all heard of the Easter Bunny, Santa, and the Tooth Fairy...
But have you met the Mother Fairy?!
Our house has a Mother Fairy. And if yours doesn't, well, then you're missing out!
You see the Mother Fairy, she cleans.
She cleans houses.
She loves when everything is organized. And she does all of her cleaning while everyone is asleep so the house looks nice when they wake up in the morning. She picks up their rooms, cleans the living room and washes the dishes.
We discovered the Mother Fairy a few months ago.
Once upon a time, the kid's room was a complete disaster. Er...maybe more than once upon a time... So one night while the kids were fast asleep, the Mother Fairy zipped through their room and tidied it up, quick as a flash (took a good half hour). The kids woke up in the morning with great astonishment to find that their room was a completely different place. It was clean and organized.
In disbelief, Nikayda said,"MOM. Do you think the Mother Fairy did it?!"
Oh yeah! With these wings and fairy dust, I can do anything. ;)
And, why just last night she paid us another visit. Nikayda had silver colored flip-flops that were quite dirty and needed a good washing. She discovered them, this afternoon, sparkling clean sitting by the door,"Mom! Maybe the Mother Fairy did it."
The Mother Fairy strikes again! ;)

That's adorable! I was actually planning to be Mother Fairy in this house last night but I thought about it too late...that's what I need to do though because it's so hard to get housework done with kids underfoot.
I like fairies of any order. Back to Christmas...
A Christmas fairy always came to my house as a little girl. She somehow knew if we were behaving or NOT and if we were then we knew it, cuz a bell would tinkle somewhere in the house meaning she was close by and she would leave a book of some sort.
So...
when I had kids of my own, that Christmas fairy found our house and although she started out tinkling bells, sometimes the doorbell would ring and lo and behold, there by the door would be a book of some sort.
Oh, those were fun, fun years...
OH, by the way, I STILL BELIEVE
in all of that fun makebelieve stuff.
Me too! (I still believe). :) And I love that (Christmas fairy)!
It's so much fun for the kids.
I made the mistake of telling Nikayda that the Disney princesses weren't real when we were talking about Disneyland, one time! I didn't even think about it.
Ah well. She still has the Mother fairy. ;)
I want the Mother Fairy to come visit my house for me some night:)
Tell the Mother Fairy where I live...find out if she cleans vans too.
I could use the Mother Fairy myself.
Mother Fairy lost the directions to my house. Or maybe it is because we don't have a chimney--yep that is it!
The Mother Fairy in this house stays out of kids' bedrooms after they've gone to sleep. She's too nervous about waking them up! She does, however, do the dishes and pick up the living area... occasionaly. She must think she's a part-time employee around here.
What an adorable story, Jen, thanks for sharing! :)
Lol. :) Cyndi, I had to comment on the bedroom-thing. That is the ONE and Only ;) time the Mother Fairy flew through the kid's room when they were sleeping. :)
She had put them to bed, I mean, I had put them to bed after a busy day (and knew they were *very* tired and wouldn't wake up). And the Mother Fairy refused to leave it like that for one more day. :) I, I mean, she even turned the light on! (She forgot her magic-light sparkles that time).
Thanks for the directions from your homepage... I honestly don't know that I would have remembered to look for your reply!
I love those nights when the kids sleep so well after a busy day. They must have been really tired if they didn't even wake up when the light when on!
I SO understand the Mother Fairy's need to refuse leaving messes for one more day! At that point, she will risk waking the house to get the job done around here!
