Kid Quips

Sometimes you don't even realize how much your kids pick up on.

Nikayda & Aapo were telling me that they rode in Uncle Hans' car today when they went to the house.

Me: Did you buckle up? (I'm obsessed with buckling up).
Nikayda: Yeah. We didn't even sit together. (Meaning, they didn't double-buckle, which they've done before).
Me (for conversations sake): That's good.
Aapo: There was just a little bit of junk in dair. (That's how he said it).

This may not be very funny. But in his little voice, I thought it was cute. He's obviously picked up on my lingo because he wasn't saying "junk" to be rude! He just meant "stuff".

I just put the kids to bed. Carter's doing awesome!! He can breathe!!!!!! I'm feeling very thankful about that!

In fact, he's in there singing-away! "D-aint dume! D-aint dume...!" over and over. ("Thank you! Thank you...!") He must be feeling pretty thankful too.

I went in there to hush him because the other two were falling asleep.

Me: Where is your pluggy*?
Carter: Reaches into his shirt, feeling around for something.

So I reached into his shirt, extracted his pluggy and promptly popped it into his mouth. And now I'm here.

Uh-oh! Now he's sounding a little upset. "Puh-eee! Puh-eeee!" I'd better go help...again. :)

...And yes, it was in his shirt again. He couldn't get it out.
