Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Day to all the Mother's out there! It's getting pretty late for Mother's Day wishes...better late than never though.

We went to Dorset and ate at C0mpaneros (mexican restaurant) with Dave & Shirley, Hans & Janelle (Josephson), Jason & Suzy (Moe) and Emily Josephson and Nick Skoog and no kids (best part). It was fun and the food was delicious as usual.

Suzy and I were both excited that the town has opened up for the season. Yes I said 'town'. The restaurants and shops in Dorset are only open seasonally from Spring to Fall. There are about 4 restaurants and several more little shops. Blink when you're driving through and you'll miss it. But the place is packed with people all summer. The wait, to eat, is often 45 minutes or more in the evenings but the food is awesome!

Our little town has but one little Cafe and neighboring towns don't offer much more, so this is a very exciting thing when Dorset opens. It's the restaurant capital of the world. At least, that's what the Dorset paper claims. The one paper that they print. When I say one, I mean the one paper they print all summer. As in, one copy. The Dorset Daily Bugle claims they have the most restaurants per capita than anywhere else...

Things may be pretty dead around here during the winter but summer is booming with activity as people from far and wide head north (here) to their cabins on the lakes. It's fun for us too because a lot of little shops and restaurants open up again.

But I'm getting sidetracked...after Companeros, we went to Jason & Suzy's for Amy's (3rd) birthday party and visiting. While we were there, Rita (8 yrs old) came up to me with a gift bag and Suzy says that she remembered it was my birthday yesterday and wanted to get something for me. I opened it up and it was a necklace. It's so cute and Suzy said that she bought it with her own money at a garage sale.

It just made my day and I thought it was the sweetest thing. It's neat because she obviously put some thought into it. (She knows I like fun jewelry.) And it was perfect because I don't own a thing that cost me more than 5 bucks because I find it all at garage sales or junk stores. It'll definitely be one that I'll treasure!

It was a very fun weekend. I have a little bit of the "Sunday Night Blues" now because it was so fun. Back to reality.

I had a great birthday this year with the get-together at mom & dad's last weekend, all the junk (both as gifts & stuff we found junk-picking) and the relaxing day Saturday. Mark took Nikayda & Aapo for a few hours in the afternoon while Carter napped and I got to relax! And we all went to eat at La Pasta (Italian) in Dorset. The kids were so good which was also awesome. So, thanks to all who made turning 30 special for me.

I was telling Mark that it seems weird that I'm 30 because I used to think it was so old but I'm not old. (At least, not to anyone older than me. ha-ha-ha.) But I said, "In another 10 years I'll be 40! Whoa! Reality check." (Time to stop thinking).

It's all in the attitude.

Happy Mother's Day!
